Kenalog is a brand name of a drug containing triamcinolone, which is used among other things to ease lupus-related skin eruptions. Systemic lupus erythematosus is a difficult disease to understand that seems to prefer women to men, striking females eight times more often than males. Women are particularly at risk during their childbearing years. Yet experts are still uncertain about what causes lupus, why it strikes women much more often than men, and how to cure it. There are no real theories or answers about why lupus strikes women more often. Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which means that the immune system’s antibodies, designed to destroy invaders, turn against healthy body tissue. There are no real known reasons as to why this happens, although stress, certain infections, and pregnancy seem to be predisposing factors.
Kenalog Injection
The symptoms of lupus that would require Kenalog depend on which part of your body is attacked. Symptoms may include fever, weight loss, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, rashes, and joint pain. Women may have menstrual difficulties, they may have problems with their hearts and lungs, and exposure to sunlight may cause skin eruptions for them. Kenalog is used to help ease these lupus-related skin eruptions, as well as to treat allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, adrenocortical insufficiency, rheumatic disorders, allergies, and other diseases in which inflammation or an errant immune system is a problem.
Kenalog Shot
The side effects of Kenalog include upset stomach, high blood pressure, fever, and vertigo. Kenalog can also cause abdominal distension, heartburn, and nausea, all of which can upset your eating habits and possibly interfere with good nutrition. It can also cause diarrhea, which can hamper nutritent absorption. When you take Kenalog, your body can be depleted of its levels of calcium, magnesium, potassium, selenium, zinc, and vitamins A, B6, C, D, and K. If you experience a loss of these nutrients, you might want to increase your intake of certain foods to increase your levels. To increase your level of vitamin A in your body, you can eat beef liver, chicken liver, cheese pizza, whole milk, and cheddar cheese. To increase your level of vitamin B in your body, you can eat potato, banana, garbanzo beans, chicken breast, and fortified oatmeal. To increase your level of vitamin C in your diet, you can eat papaya, guava, red pepper, cantaloupe and black currants. To increase your level of vitamin D, you can eat salmon, mackerel, sardines, eel, and fortified milk.
