One of the scourges of modern medicine is Alzheimer’s disease. There are, though, treatments that have begun to developl. One such drug treatment is Aricept. What It Does
So what exactly does Aricept do for you? Basically, aricept helps the nerve cells in the brain to improve in terms of function. Those who suffer from dimentia brought on by alzheimer’s disease usually have lower levels of the chemical in their body. The effectivveness of aricept is best for mid to low level dimensia.

Talk To Your Doctor
If you are going to start on Aricept, you should talk to your doctor. Let him or her know if you have any heart rhythm disorders, have had any stomach ulcers, have an enlarged prostate, epilepsy, asthma, or COPD. Any of these conditions may cause you to be unable to use Aricept or you could possibly need your dosage adjusted to counteract your condition.
Aricept Side Effects
As with most any drug, there is the possibility that you could get side effects from your Aricept 10 mg tablets. Here are a few serious ones of which you should be aware. If you are experiencing stool that is bloody, black, or tarry; caoughing up blood or are vomiting anything that looks like coffee grounds; urination that hurts; or seizures you should consider it serious and stop taking your aricept and call your physician right away.
There are more common and less serious side effects as well. If you experience nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, cramping of the muscles, tired feelings, or insomnia then you should contact your doctor, but you may continue taking your medication.
